November Purrfect Box | Review

Hello everyone, today I have another review of the Purrfect subscription box. This box for November is packed full of goodies for your cat and I'm so excited to review it again.

Food:

The one thing I love about this box is all the treats that come with it. They are safe for your cat and don't contain any nasty ingredients. There is a cream pudding which can be used as a snack for your cat between meals or as a reward, it comes in a handy resealable pouch and it is safe to say your cat will love this product. Another snack included were the Chicken Bites by Armitage, these include 89% real chicken, are hypoallergenic and have no colourings or preservatives. So you
know that your cat is eating a treat that is good for them and doesn't contain any nasty ingredients that could upset its insides. Lastly, my favourite products included in the food section. The complete food cans by Thrive, in flavours chicken or tuna. They are made of pure chicken breast or tuna fillet, are filled with protein, vitamins and minerals and can be used as a dinner for your cat. I think this is brilliant, vets recommend dry food for your cat because it contains the best ingredients however Thrive has made sure that a healthy wet food alternative is on the market and I will definitely be purchasing these for my cat from time to time.

Toys:

The Trixie snack and roll is such a good idea, it is a cylinder, which you fill with treats, for your cat to play with to try and get the treats out. You can refill this toy with your own treats and it will keep your cat or kitten satisfied for a very long time!  there was a plush mouse on a string which can be used to engage play with your cat. They contain feathers which entice your pet to play and this is a great toy to occupy them for hours on end.

Other:

A lovely grey blanket was also included, which is perfect for the colder months as cats love staying in and snuggling up in the warm. The paw-print pattern is adorable and my cat certainly loves blankets so this is a win for me! Finally, some wipes by Camon which can be used to wipe dirty paws or mess they make on the floor, a very handy product for those rainy days where your cat has been playing in the mud!

I'd like to say a big thank you to Purrfect box for letting me review their box again, I was shocked to see so much in this months box and really recommend subscribing, especially as it is December next month and I have a feeling the Christmas box would be the perfect gift for your furry friend. If you would like 25% off your first box simply enter the code blg7gttn at the checkout! You can find the website here:

October Purrfect Box | Review

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't posted in absolutely ages! I have lots of exams to revise for and really want to focus on them. So I've been inactive on my blog and Instagram. I will try and post when I can because I do enjoy blogging, hope you understand!

This is a short review on my the October purrfect box*. I have reviewed this box before and was thrilled to receive the opportunity again, especially as Hugo had been ill and I knew this would cheer him up. Included in the box this month: a laser light, chicken snacks, salmon cream, catnip grass, no rinse shampoo, dragonfly toy and bio food sachet. I really think this box outdid itself from the last one due to the majority of products being used up straight away. My cat absolutely adored the treats and even went to the extent of ripping the package open and eating all of them! Another favourite of his was the dragonfly toy, he stole that from me quickly and enjoys playing with it (hence why there is no picture of these products). The laser kept him occupied for a while, as he is only three, he is still very playful so I found this a great toy. Not to mention, the salmon and bio treats were greatly appreciated.

If you want to purchase a box for you cat or dog (which I would recommend) simply click the link here: https://purrfect-box.co.uk or https://pawsomebox.co.uk. If you would like more information then here is my previous post: http://lifeeoflivv.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/pawsome-purrfect-box-review.html?m=1. Thank you so much for reading. Love Liv xox

Out of Date Makeup | Time for a clear out!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well, today I am writing about makeup and its expiry date. This topic has really interested me and I hope you find this useful.

You may have read or heard some articles in the media recently about makeup going out of date and becoming dangerous by harboring nasty bacteria which can make you ill. Some of you may not even know that makeup goes off because it isn't very clear on packaging. Now, I always knew you were meant to bin makeup after a certain amount of time using it but never knew where to find this information. All I really knew was that every six months I should replenish my favourite mascara. But there is a little symbol on the back of most makeup with a number and the letter 'M' next it. So I have taken some pictures of the back of some products and thought I would share what to look for and as soon as I heard this news of hideous bacteria I cleared out all my old and out of date makeup which was much needed!

 Base

Garnier Matte Moisturiser- 12 Months
Loreal Primer- 12 Months
Loreal Infalliable Powder- 24 Months
Loreal Infalliable Matte Foundation- 12 Months
Maybelline BB Cream- 12 Months

Eyes

Urban Decay Naked 3- 12 Months, that's right, only one year! :(
Loreal Smokey Eyeliner- 24 Months
Loreal Telescopic Mascara- 6 Months

Blush, Highlighter & Setting Spray

 W7 Blush- 18 Months
Mary Lou-Manizer- 12 Months
Avon Setting Spray- 12 Months

Lips

Rimmel Apocalips- 24 Months

I recommend, writing down on a piece of paper the date you open it so you can refer to it to see how long it has been. I know it is time consuming but it is worth it because you don't want to risk the bacteria making you ill. Did you know that perfume can go off too? It will be on your bottle as well, my Library of Fragrance will last 18 Months and Calvin Klein's Reveal will last me 3 Years before going nasty! I really wish all products could last two or three years because if you love it, it is a shame to bin it but necessary none the less. I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you are going to have a clear out or analyse your makeup like I did. This article talks about the medical side of things, click here to read more. It is really interesting and as you can tell I have enjoyed checking my makeup and clearing it out because not only does it feel good to get rid of old makeup that's lying around, it is good to know it isn't going to hurt me or make me ill! The only sad thing is, I should only really use my Naked palette for four more months :( I hope you enjoyed this different type of post. Love, Liv xox

W7 | Haul

Hello, I hope you are all well. Today I have a short review on some W7* products:

 Liquid Kiss- £4.95
Candy Blush-£4.95

W7 are known for their affordable cosmetics and for being good quality dupes to popular products at a low cost. The Absolute Lashes is very similar to Benefit's They're Real, the wand separates your lashes whilst adding length with a little volume. This is ideal for a natural lash and is an affordable mascara that can be repurchased multiple times without damaging your purse. I really love the Candy Blush in the shade angel and have been using it everyday, it's buildable formula adds such a pretty flush of colour to your cheeks and I really like the finish it gives. It isn't chalky which is a bonus! When I opened the kiss lipstick I was very worried about the vibrant pink colour because I tend to stay away from bright pink shades. But after applying it, it looked really nice and I would definitely wear it for an occasion such as a party. The liquid formula applies wet and drys matte in a matter of seconds which I really like, it is long lasting and doesn't need to be re-applied often :) Overall, my favourite product is the Candy Blush and I am definitely going to check out the other shades because it applies so well.

I hope you enjoyed this review and found it useful. Thank you W7 for sending me these to try out and review, they will definitely be popping up on my blog in the future no doubt. I think I'm going to try out more W7 products as I am really impressed with the quality and price. Stay up to date with me by following my social medias listed on the side of my blog. Thank you for reading, love Liv xox

Lotus Lashes | Review + Discount Code

Hello. Sorry for no posts since being back, I just lost the motivation to blog but have lots of posts to come! Lotus Lashes were kind enough to send me a pair of their cruelty-free mink lashes to try out. I chose number 116 Light Volume as I prefer a natural lash. Lotus Lashes are very lightweight so when you apply them, your eyes don't feel heavy and you can wear them for a long time. They cost $20 (£12.98) and are reusable up to 25 times so for that price they are great value as you get more use out of them instead of having to buy more and more after a few uses. The packaging is very cute, a lovely pink colour with gold detailing and a black bow. Your lashes come in a tray, I find keeping them in there after use helps maintain their shape. You need to cut them down to fit your eye so be careful and cut small pieces at a time until you get your desired look as you don't want to cut too much off. I honestly love these lashes for when I have an occasion because they complete my makeup look and don't look fake as they fit perfectly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a pair of lashes that last and are affordable. I have a really good discount code for you all to get 15% off! Just use "LOVELOTUS" at the checkout. I hope this was useful and thank you for reading. Please follow me on Bloglovin and Instagram via the links on the side. Love Liv xox

Happy Holidays | Travel Makeup & Flight Essentials

Hello everyone, today I am talking about the makeup I will most likely be taking on holiday and some of the items I feel are essential when flying. I hope you find this useful if you are going on holiday or were just interested in what I was taking. I use my Cath Kidston travel bag, it is a gorgeous floral design and has two compartments, I use one for skincare and the other for my makeup. It also has a handle which is really convenient for carrying around.

Skincare

For my skincare, I take my travel size Micellar water, as well as cotton pads (I will take more than in the photo.) I have also included an eye makeup remover which makes your life so easy when wearing waterproof mascara. I also think a moisturiser is key, preferably one with SPF, I have this matte one from Garnier which is meant for oily skin. I grabbed this in a hurry when I was in Tesco because it was on offer and the only one that didn't have a strong scent.  However, I think it will be handy in hot weather to keep your skin a little less oily when in the sun. A lip balm is a major essential because you want to make sure they aren't chapped and stay nourished, Blistex is my favourite brand for lip care. I couldn't fit my setting spray in the other side but chose to take it as I will be wearing concealer and want it to stay in place all day.

Base

For base, I included two concealers. The collection one is for the evenings to brighten my under eyes as I will have a tan and then the Rimmel Wake Me Up is for daytime use. If I want some light coverage then I have a BB cream for the evening because my foundations won't match my skin, this is the same with powder but it will be good to set my concealer and brighten up my eye area. I of course had to take my Mac highlighter as it is a holy grail, then a shimmer brick for a bronze glow as well as my sleek contour kit which has a bronzer, blush and highlighter. I will also take a cream blush for the daytime.

Eyes

I absolutely love my Beauty UK cream eyeshadow and eyeliner duo. The copper colour is stunning, especially in summer. I don't use the eyeliner so took a liquid one by Collection and this doesn't run or budge until you remove it. I included two mascaras, a waterproof one for the day and Roller Lash for the evening.

Brows and Palettes

I am getting my eyebrows tinted because I have extremely light eyebrows compared to my brown hair so this way I won't have to fill them in and they will remain with colour when I swim or go to the beach etc. I have taken my Browzings in case I need to fill in a sparse area with a brow wax and if I want to make them bold in the evenings. I've decided to leave my Naked 3 at home and take the Collection one because there are many wearable and nighttime looks with these eyeshadows.

Lips

This may seem excessive but I am taking all my Mac lipsticks because I will have a tan so can wear all of them and pull off a couple of colours better than normal! I will most likely throw in a lipgloss too.

In-flight Essentials

These aren't everything but some items I will be taking. Books are a must to occupy yourself as well as magazines. Here I have a book from the Divergent series and a book of my interest, forensic psychology. Headphones or earphones are ideal for listening to music wether it's on your phone or an iPod  and they also come in handy if you watch films on the plane. Gum is perfect for taking off to avoid your ears going all funny and I also feel some chocolate is good too! Moisturiser, eye creams and serums are good to prevent dry skin, simply place these into travel size pots and you are good to go. If you are wearing makeup or doing your makeup on the plane then taking some is useful.

I hope you found this useful, stay tuned for more posts, although there won't be any when I'm on holiday :( Love, Liv xox

Born Pretty | Haul

Hello! I have loads of blog posts coming for before I go on holiday and normal posts will resume afterwards, so if I don't post that is why. Today I am showing you some items I received from Born Pretty* a store that sells an array of items from Makeup to Accessories at a very reasonable price. I was gifted a $10 coupon to purchase some items and do an honest review. I chose items that I thought would interest you or prove beneficial in later blog posts. Also a quick disclaimer, you may notice on my blog I have been gifted a lot of items recently and have been writing about them, I will be doing some more reviews on products I was sent but after those are up there won't be as many because I had to push these posts back due to schoolwork and a trip, I hope you understand and enjoy!

Cat Ears

A lot of people, including me, have been looking for cute cat ears recently but there are loads out there and some can be really pricey. So when I saw these were only $3.99 which is £2.55 I had to get them. They are available in silver and gold, they are sturdy and have pearls decorating the ears which is adorable. You may notice a couple of the pearls have fallen off but they are easy to glue back on. I got these to include in an Ariana Grande inspired blog post so stay tuned for that! You can buy them here and they are now $2.99.

False Lashes

I am always looking to practice applying false eyelashes before I invest in an expensive pair so this pack of ten seemed like a good start and for $3.99 (£2.55) you can't go wrong. They are a little rigid but once you cut them to size and shape them to your eye, they loosen up and fit quite well. They give a natural look and are easy to wear. You can get them here.

Snowflake Ear Cuff

I chose this for a cute accessory and it looked really pretty. This simply can be shaped to fit an area of your ear be it for your cartilage or elsewhere and looks very simplistic. This is $1.99 which is extremely cheap and can be bought here.

That concludes my haul, my favourite item is the cat ears as they are so cute. All items can be purchased from http://www.bornprettystore.com/ and if you want 10% off your order just use the code LIVH10 at the checkout :) Thank you so much for reading, I have a summer essentials post coming next which I am excited to share. I will also post about my travel makeup bag and in-flight essentials too. Love, Liv xox
